And how the Christmas film is connected to Shelton’s mom…
No one knows the Christmas spirit like The Voice Coach Blake Shelton and Hallmark. And luckily, this holiday season, they are teaming up with Peacock to give you access to a much anticipated original film titled Time for Him To Come Home for Christmas, which first aired on November 26, 2022. Check out all the details below.
In order to stream Time for Him To Come Home for Christmas, you can click on the “Hallmark Hub” tab on Peacock and play it instantly.
Executive produced by Shelton, the flick is the fifth installment of a popular Hallmark franchise. The first film, Time for Me To Come Home for Christmas was released in 2018. A new film has been released each year since: Time for You To Come Home for Christmas, Time for Us to Come Home for Christmas, and Time for Them to Come Home for Christmas.
The latest—Time for Him to Come Home For Christmas—is about a young woman named Elizabeth who receives a mysterious message on her answering machine. It’s from an unknown man who is trying to win back his former love. The story then follows Elizabeth’s attempt to track down the mystery man and bring the two lovers back together, while she searches for companionship herself.
It all started when Shelton sought out help from his mom, Dorothy Shackleford, when writing a song titled “Time For Me To Come Home” (which she’s also featured on) off of his 2012 Christmas album, Cheers, It’s Christmas. A year later she wrote a book titled, Time For Me To Come Home, inspired by her son’s work.
“When I was making my Christmas album, I said, ‘Mom, let’s me and you write a song together, and you can sing it with me on my album,” he said on From Apple Music With Love. “And there’s your Lucille Ball moment. You can finally have your moment to be famous. We had no idea it was going to end up turning into a book deal for my mom.“
He continued, “Then from the book, it became basically this series of movies. It’s amazing what they’re able to do over there, but it’s been a cool experience to have that with my mom.”
