Brampton rapper Raz Fresco is a busy man. After putting out his Marvelous Right Wrist album in July, Fresco is now working on an animated movie to pair with the project, with each track having its own chapter. Today, he released the video for the album’s opening track “The World Is Yours” featuring Wu-Tang Clan legend Raekwon.
The video, borrowing heavily from golden age animation, opens with Raekwon in a chef’s uniform, reciting his monologue, detailing Fresco’s ascension. Then, once Fresco fully evolves into his own, he’s shown rapping his verses around various fantastical settings.
Along with the new video, Fresco is re-releasing all nine entries of his Magneto Was Right album series on streaming. Fresco originally put out the albums between 2020 and 2021 as a lead-up to Marvelous Right Wrist, an album Fresco said he had been working on since 2019.
After releasing Marvelous Right Wrist, Fresco dropped his follow-up album Magnetic which also has a connection with the Magneto Was Right series.
In an email explaining his intentions, Fresco detailed that the back covers of each issue of the Magneto series formed a larger image which wound up as the back cover of Magnetic. That album dropped on Sept. 9, a year after the ninth and final entry of the Magneto series was released.
Even with all the music Fresco has put out since 2020, he still has more up his sleeve. He said on Instagram that the first 100 people to submit proof of them buying all nine issues of Magneto Was Right on vinyl will also receive a free variant of Magnetic on vinyl with a bonus seven-inch record containing unreleased music that will never be released in any other format.
Since Magnetic was released, Fresco put out two collaborative albums: Arm Leg Leg Arm Head LP with Eric Right and Jamaican Rum Cake with BKRSCLB.
