The Weeknd might remove Trilogy from streaming services.
The Toronto artist took to Twitter on Sunday to share his thoughts on his 2012 compilation album Trilogy, which was released on streaming services and is comprised of his classic 2011 mixtapes House Of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes Of Silence.
The Weeknd urged fans to listen to the original mixtapes “individually,” while reminding them that the mix on the compilation project “isn’t the original mix.”
“If y’all wanna hear the trilogy how it’s supposed to be listened to … listen to House of BalloonsThursday and Echoes of Silence individually,” The Weeknd wrote. “Not all samples are on trilogy and the mix isn’t the original mix. But shout out trilogy but fyi, for the new fans, it isn’t an album.”
“I might get rid of the compilation just so there’s no more confusion, now that ALL the samples are finally cleared since December 17, 2021,” The Weeknd added.
He concluded by saying he might not scrap Trilogy from streamers because he knpws “are are fans” of the compilation. “But just want it to be clear for all the new fans and weirdly older fans,” he wrote.
